• Lay the quilt top flat and measure through the CENTER of your top and cut the borders to this length. 
  • Then mark both the border strips and the quilt edge at one-fourth sections.  Match the marks, pin and ease quilt to fit the borders. 
  • If you measure the edge of your quilt instead of the center, you will almost always end up with a quilt that will not hang or lay flat.  Also, there is a good chance that tucks/folds will need to be taken in the border during the quilting process.
  • After sewing the borders on don’t forget to “stay-stitch” the edge as soon as you’re done as this will prevent any stretching from further handling.
